Gastric well-differentiated neuroendocrine (carcinoid) tumor

Updated: Oct 23, 2020

Gastric well-differentiated neuroendocrine (carcinoid) tumor arising in autoimmune atrophic gastritis. The synaptophysin (red) - ki-67 (brown) combo stain is lovely; note the enterochromaffin-like (ECL) cell hyperplasia in the flat mucosa. This tumor is from the gastric body, which lacks oxyntic mucosa (parietal and chief cells).

We are running low on the remaining copies of the GI Survival guide.
