This classic abdominal desmoplastic small round cell tumor arose in a man in his twenties. It was shown to have the classic EWSR1:WT1 fusion. It is easy to mistake these high-grade sarcomas for carcinomas on needle biopsies. In this case, the patient’s demographic profile (young man) is a clue.

Case provided by Dr. Elizabeth Montgomery, Clinical Professor, Vice Chair of Faculty Development & Mentoring, Director of Surgical Pathology Fellowship Training Program, Co-Director, Pathology Reference Services, and Editor-In-Chief at Innovative Science Press.
