Bio
Dr. Oshima was born and raised in Tokyo, where she obtained her medical degrees. Subsequently she completed a surgical residency and practiced as a breast surgeon for two years in Tokyo before coming to the United states. She served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and New England Medical Center in Boston and subsequently received pathology residency training at The University of Illinois. After completion of her AP/CP residency, she pursued a blood banking fellowship at University of Chicago, and a surgical pathology fellowship at University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Oshima Joined the faculty at Drexel University, Philadelphia in 2002 followed by specialty training in gastrointestinal/liver pathology at Loyola University, Chicago. She continued to work as a liver/gastrointestinal pathologist at St. Louis University, Missouri and Medical College of Wisconsin, Wisconsin. Currently Dr. Oshima is the director of clinical hepatic pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of medicine and plays an active role in liver/ gastrointestinal pathology.
