These images are from an appendectomy performed on a 35 year old man. What is your diagnosis?
Answer: Appendiceal diverticula with associated appendicitis. Comment: Appendiceal diverticula are relatively common and sometimes mistaken for mucinous neoplasms, as pointed out by Dr. Joseph Misdraji some time ago.
